Real skill is making something that not only looks amazing, but tastes good too. It looks like this is just standard sponge cake covered with about a pound of crappy royal icing. Not delicious!!! Royal icing/fondant is the playdough of the cake world. You can make anything out of it, but it tastes like ass. The corners on this look horrible too- it’s not even good royal icing! Maybe I’m a cake snob (I am), but I am not impressed at all by cakes like this. Real skill is making something that not only looks amazing, but tastes good too.
